GENOA SPECIAL

The following testaments are pretty exciting reading, they are inspirational and they set down the commitment, energy and seriousness of being involved in this new global movement for change. A movement that has spread massively right throughout the world within less than two years - since the protests at Seattle against the World Trade Organization (WTO). That is not to suggest that struggling against the powerful is a new thing, people have and always will always do this - in their urgency to survive, it is in our blood. This is something the ones who have the power do not understand. But this movement is for the first time a truly global movement, a movement that connects in its struggle - and identifies the same enemy - that tiny elite, protected by their enforcers, that think only of profit, profit at the cost of everything, people, the land, the planet, the animals.
Only a few days after Genoa a new anti-capitalist movement was established in the Middle East. Hopefully that movement will bring together the many individuals and groups who will identify with each other’s struggles across nations and boundaries.
The following reading is also disturbing. Everyone who went to Genoa witnessed the naked brutality of the police; they witnessed what the capitalists and their poodles the politicians were prepared to do - to protect their wealth. But we think it’s important to be real, and in our struggle for a world where all peoples interests come first - we recognized sacrifices will have to made.
We hope you get a taste of the experience of being a part of this new movement.
